About Abbie Wiebe
Oil Painting

Hello, my name is Abbie and I’m a self-taught oil painter from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Currently, I work as a psychiatric nurse, and when I’m not at the hospital, I love to craft, sew, and paint.

 

I’ve experimented with almost every type of medium and technique, but always find myself being drawn towards oil painting. I enjoy painting still life, flowers, and fruit. I am inspired by art movements such as romanticism, realism, and impressionism throughout the 19th century.

 

Painting allows me to see the natural beauty in everyday life through the use of shapes and colour, and I love to be able to share that perspective with others through art.
