Memorable Red Chair Conversations

I noticed someone looking in the window, their gaze fixed on the red chair. They shuffled inside, walker in hand. Pausing in the doorway they asked, "may I sit in the chair in the window?"

"Be my guest." I said.

They sat and looked over with a childlike smile, ear to ear, eyes lit up and then said, "we had a similar chair when I was growing up, it was just as comfortable."

We spent the next half hour sharing stories and then they left, leaving behind a nice memory.

Favourite Magical Moment

A couple wandered into the shop one day, still carrying the weight of a goodbye. They were visiting from B.C. and had just dropped their daughter off at the U of A; her first step into a new city, a new chapter.

As they moved through the store, a denim jacket stopped them.
“She would love this,” the mother said quietly. “It feels like her.”

You could feel it then, the ache of letting go. What was special about that jacket and the connection they had with it, was learning that it had been designed by a mother-daughter team called Timeless Treasures. Hearing that brought her so much joy.
